I purchased Acer Travelmate 5612 about 3 years ago and it was loaded with Acer empowerment Technology; it worked alright until the last few months. since then any time I turn on my computer I get the message "The application failed to initialize properly (0c0000135). Click on OK to terminate the aplication". I find also that my computer battery runs down almost immediately if I do not plug in the computer to an external electric power source. Not being a computer buff, I find it very annoying when I cannot use the computer away from the wall plug.

I'm an Acer owner, my desktop came with this software. I don't find it useful for an IT person. When there are issues with the software it blocks access to your system. I have uninstalled 2 Acer applications that came with my desktop because it was the only way to get back control of my system. These software do the same things Windows is already doing. I like my Acer PC but I test enterprise software and do not need the extra troubleshooting when I have issues. Acer doesn't have the answers and neither does Microsoft, you have to find some guru online to get to the bottom of it. Many people had the same problems I've had and had to rebuild their PCs. I give it zero stars. It is useless.

New updates not for everyone notebook available. For example, SI notifies me about Extensa updates and not about my Aspire notebook.
